Hurricane Camille
Photo shows debris and loss of trees after Clean-Up was nearing completion.
Hurricane Camille of 1969 completely demolished the Trinity Church, the Rectory, and other buildings in the complex as well as being hit by winds greater than 225mph and being inundated by a Storm Tidal Surge of over 25 feet. These, and other devastations are shown and written about in Dan Ellis' book --- All About Camille -- The Big Storm.
